About Us

"Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it."

This quote, famously said by Charles Swindoll, is the basis of who we are. Always remember that it’s not about what happens to us that’s important, but how we react to it.

Who We Are

We are The 10 and 90 Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit (EIN: 82-1065977) founded in 2017. The inspiration to start our foundation spawned out of the way of life and mindset created by our founder, Logan Seelye: “10 and 90”. This refers to a powerful quote by Charles Swindoll,

“Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react to it.”

It means, simply, that it doesn’t matter what happens to you. What matters, and what’s most important, is how we react to the challenges we all face in life. Logan knows first hand about life challenging us, as he suffered a life changing accident in 2003 when he broke his neck and had a spinal cord injury playing high school football.

Logan refused to let his injuries define him. Fast forward more than a decade later, Logan’s post injury achievements are truly sensational. After months of intense physical therapy , he defied doctor expectations and in June of 2004 with the help of a walker, Logan made his way across the stage to receive his high school diploma. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Central Washington University in 4 years and presented the commencement speech to his graduating class. And, he married his high school sweetheart, Jordyn, and purchased a house in the Spanaway area where they are raising their young daughter, Skylar.

It was his next mission, forming this foundation that truly was one of his most important decisions. Throughout the early stages of his injury, he was given so much out of the kindness of the community. It was time to give back.

Our Mission

We aim to support those with spinal cord injuries and to benefit youth in the community by providing opportunities for growth and enrichment through athletic and academic programming. We have aspirations and dreams to help others who have similar life changing accidents by providing them grants and resources to alleviate the financial stress that it causes. We strive to provide the hope and courage it takes to find the positives in life, and always believe the road ahead will be greater. This also includes our Athletic Scholarship to help high school athletes continue their dreams of going to college and playing sports and the next level.
